Tolletts Chapel History

Tolletts Chapel Global Methodist Church, a landmark on the Cumberland Plateau near Crossville, Tennessee, began its story in the early 1900s. A small group of families in the Tabor Loop area felt a strong need for a place of dedicated place of worship. The Tollett family gave leadership and with the efforts of other families in the area, erected a church building that is the core of what can be seen today. This church quickly became a center of community life, providing not only spiritual guidance but also a space for social gatherings and mutual support.

In the early years of Tolletts Chapel, the church was marked by the spiritual fervor of the Methodist movement and joined the Methodist church, which later became the United Methodist Church. Grateful for the Lord’s grace and the faith of our people over the years, Tolletts Chapel now has partnered with the Global Methodist Church.

Generations of local families have found faith and fellowship within Tolletts Chapel’s walls and have been strengthened in Christ to witness and serve others. Tolletts Chapel continues to serve the community, upholding its commitment to faith and fellowship in the heart of the Cumberland Plateau.
